23 Titi Street was a new fence that was going to be installed for KiwiRail, the client called to get us out just to confirm there were no services before drilling holes for the new fence. We did the Before-U-Dig enquiry and quickly saw that there were various utilities inside their construction area and notified the client not to drill until we have identified the services on site. We started our investigations and quickly found various high voltage cables, a high-pressure gas pipe and a bulk water main just to name a few. Decision made to move all plant off site and to use Hydro excavation methods for all trenching and holes. This was a real-life case study in why we do what we do. Always doing our utmost best to locate as many services as possible and leave no stone unturned.
